Revanth Reddy sworn in as Second CM of Telangana State, Vikramarka to be Deputy CM, 11 MLAs also take oath

Mallu B. Vikramarka was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, among the MLAs who took oath as ministers were N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, C. Damodar Rajnarasimha, and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy. Revanth Reddy became Telangana’s first Congress Chief Minister and the second Chief Minister of the state.  Telangana came into existence in  2014 after the separation of the then Andhra Pradesh and since then KCR was the Chief Minister continuously

Congress Legislature Party leader A Revanth Reddy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana on Thursday. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Revanth Reddy.  AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attended the event held at the LB Stadium here.

Revanth Reddy became the first Congress Chief Minister of Telangana and the second Chief Minister of the state. Telangana came into existence after the separation of the then Andhra Pradesh in 2014  and since then  KCR has been the Chief Minister continuously. Of the 119  assembly seats in the state election, the Congress alone won 64 seats with a majority.

While Revanth Reddy took oath just three days after the election results were declared, the Congress asked why there was such a delay in announcing the names of chief ministers in the BJP-won states — Madhya Pradesh,  Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
