The government filed an application in the Supreme Court in the Faristey scheme case in Delhi. The Delhi government alleged that LG is withholding funds for this scheme. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the LG on the government’s application.

LG and the government have once again come face to face over the ‘Faristey Scheme’ in Delhi. This time the matter has reached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the LG on the Delhi government’s plea seeking a   direction to release funds for  ‘Farishte Delhi Ke’, a scheme designed for the free treatment of accident victims. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and Sudhanshu Dhulia of the Supreme Court issued notices to the LG, Directorate General of Health Services of the Delhi Government, and others. The Supreme Court remarked during this time that we do not understand that one branch of the government is fighting with the other.

‘It’s all about social welfare, not politics’: Delhi government standing counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that there are  23,000  cases of road accidents. The letter is written and payment is not made from there. This is a matter of social welfare and there is no politics in it. Farishta Delhi scheme encourages people to save those injured in road accidents. The government pays the hospital bills to save the injured, who reach the hospital for treatment after being injured.

‘LG withholding funds’: Government of Delhi The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court alleging that angels are withholding funds meant for a scheme in Delhi to save road accident victims. Under this scheme, the injured will get free treatment. Singhvi said that funds for this scheme are being stopped. How can health be inside LG? This is purely a matter of social welfare. It has been said in the application of the Delhi government that the funds under this scheme should be released immediately. It has been said by the government that the pending bill for private hospitals is to be cleared on time.
