Eye on Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi preparing for another “Bharat  Jodo  Yatra 2.0” , Unemployment will be the issue this time.

It was the first time he spoke publicly on the issue. He believes that jobs are an emotional topic, which can create a connection with people.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to embark on another yatra next month, which is expected to take place from the North-East, and make it the pivot of his campaign for the next up coming Lok Sabha Election. But unlike the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, this time the focus will be on livelihood issues like unemployment and inflation, as he wants to create an atmosphere for the party’s electoral push, sources said.

Gandhi told the media at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday, “There has been a security breach. But why did this happen? The biggest issue in the country is the issue of unemployment, which is boiling all over the country. Due to Modi’s policies, the youth of India are not getting jobs.”

Congress sources said Gandhi was trying to convince the party’s floor managers in Parliament to link the violation to unemployment and not lead to security and get bogged down in technical intricacies.

The Congress and other opposition parties in the INDIA bloc stalled Parliament on Thursday and Friday, leading to the suspension of 14 MPs, demanding a statement from Shah on security lapses. They have vowed to disrupt the proceedings of Parliament till the Home Minister makes a statement in the House.

The modalities for Gandhi’s visit are being worked out, the sources said. “The yatra will begin from one of the north eastern states in January,” a leader said.

“He will address rallies here and there. The visit will be Rahul’s campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. Of course, there will be joint rallies with parties from INDIA, but their focus will be on the journey. “

One leader said, “We are working on the details. The yatra may begin from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram or some place in eastern Assam where all the leaders of the north-eastern states will be together, he said. It will be a hybrid journey where all modes of transport will be utilised. ”

Discouraged by the party’s humiliating defeats in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi hopes to breathe new life into the organisation with the yatra and bring to the fore issues he wants to highlight in the Lok Sabha election campaign.
