INDIA Alliance

During the virtual meeting of the parties of the INDIA Alliance, of course, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was decided to be made the chairman of the alliance with consensus, but during this time Rahul Gandhi’s name was also suggested for this post, but Rahul Gandhi strongly supported Kharge’s candidature and rejected the proposal as a suggestion. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar participated in the India Block leaders’ meeting through video conferencing in Mumbai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin and party leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi also attended the meeting.

However, an official announcement is yet to be made by the opposition alliance in this regard. During the meeting, the name of Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) President Nitish Kumar was also proposed for the post, but he rejected it. Instead, Nitish said that someone from the Congress should become the chairperson of this alliance. Subsequently, Kharge’s name was proposed for the post.  The Indian National Developmental Inclusive  Alliance (India)  block leaders met today to review the seat-sharing agenda, Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and other matters related to the alliance.

JDU leader and minister in the Bihar government Sanjay Kumar Jha said, “During the virtual meeting of the INDIA alliance, there was a proposal to make Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar the convenor, to which Nitish Kumar did not agree. Nitish Kumar has said from the beginning that Congress should become the chairperson. “

“When Nitish Kumar’s name was suggested for the post of convener,  JDU representatives said he was not aspiring for any post. After this, Kharge’s name was nominated for the chairperson. Since TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav were not present in the meeting, a final decision will be taken later. ”

The leaders of the India Alliance held a virtual meeting on Saturday,  January 13. In this meeting, discussions were held between them on seat sharing, participation in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and other issues.

Hemant Soren proposed Rahul’s Name

JMM leader Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had proposed to lead the alliance by appointing Rahul Gandhi as the INDIA Alliance president during the meeting.  At the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, advocated increasing mutual transparency between the Congress, which is leading the INDIA, and the allies.

Mallikarjun Kharge’s name stamped as President

Most of the opposition leaders who attended the virtual meeting proposed Mallikarjun Kharge as suitable for the INDIA president in view of the need to send a political message of the institutionalized nature of the alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections  2024. Meanwhile, Hemant Soren said that Rahul Gandhi is also a very influential face for the post of chairman of the alliance. Especially in the sense that he is not only a young but also an energetic leader, which will benefit the coalition.

Rahul Gandhi rejects Soren’s proposal Politely

Sources said that immediately intervening on Soren’s proposal, Rahul rejected it and said that Mallikarjun Kharge is the president of the Congress party. Not only this, his political experience is also very long and he is the most suitable leader at this time for the post of chairman of the alliance.

Nitish turns down the convenor’s proposal

The leaders of  INDIA  also discussed the name of the convenor of the alliance to review participation in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and other matters related to the  INDIA Alliance. According to Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, on the proposal of MK Stalin, the Congress offered Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to become the coordinator of the alliance, but the Chief Minister did not accept it.

Nitish Kumar, however, did not reject the offer of the post of convenor but kept quiet on it and sent a message that his option of considering this offer is open after being supported by leaders of constituent parties like Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav.

Nitish Kumar has refused to become the convenor of the India Alliance. After Nitish’s refusal for the post of coordinator, some parties proposed Lalu’s name, on which Nitish Kumar said that if it is so, then make Lalu ji only. Nitish said that Lalu Yadav is the senior-most so why should not he be made the convenor of the alliance? According to sources, Nitish Kumar said that Congress is the largest party so the leader of the Congress should be the chairman of the alliance. I don’t want to be a convener. I will work for opposition unity even without an alliance.

“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wanted the convenor of the alliance to be from the Congress. ”

JD(U) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha

Nitish is known for his fine politics. He does not want to trap his image in a frame like greed for a post by being satisfied with the post of convenor. The truth is that Nitish has already done the work of convenor. The form of India alliance has started with the initiative of Nitish. Now is the time to give a befitting reply to the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha elections  2024. Therefore, unity of political parties is necessary here. A strategy for joint public meetings and campaigning has been devised by rational and sensible distribution of seats.

Certainly, the Bihar chief minister has the stature of the country’s future prime minister or coalition convenor, but he has already said that he is not greedy for any post. He is in favor of opposition unity, unity, and fighting the Lok Sabha elections with full strength. Today, he proved himself by refusing the proposal to make it the convenor from the leaders of all the parties.

Discussion on the pull of mutual relations

The virtual meeting of INDIA in Delhi was also used by the leaders of several allies to discuss the tussle of mutual relations. According to sources, Kejriwal raised the issue that when the discussion of Lok Sabha seat sharing was going on between Congress and AAP leaders, some Congress leaders were publicly criticizing the AAP. Rahul Gandhi intervened and insisted that aspects of national politics should not be linked to the impact of local issues related to the states.

TMC’S Straight Statement We are COMMITMENT TO INDIA

INDIA Alliance

The TMC said it was dedicated and committed to the alliance but the Congress party must understand that its support base in West Bengal is weak. According to sources, the TMC has offered only two seats to the Congress out of the  42 Lok Sabha seats in the state, which the Congress has termed as inadequate. The TMC on Saturday reiterated that the Congress party should side with the TMC to lead the political battle in West Bengal.

A TMC MP, aware of the discussions in the alliance, said on Saturday, that her party and CM Mamata Banerjee are committed to the opposition INDIA alliance. The party also wants to work together to defeat the BJP. However, we sincerely wish that the Congress leadership also acknowledges its limitations and weaknesses. In this political fight, the Bengal unit of Congress should fully support TMC.

Kejriwal meets Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul

Kejriwal also said that for several months he had been trying to meet Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Despite writing a letter about this, I have not been able to meet him. It is believed that it was the result of the issue being raised that Kejriwal met Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul on Saturday evening after the INDIA meeting. A picture of the meeting with Kejriwal at Kharge’s residence was also released by the Congress.

Earlier, there was a meeting between Congress and Aam Aadmi Party leaders on seat sharing on Friday evening. According to sources, the meeting at Mukul Wasnik’s house lasted for about two hours and leaders of both the parties termed the meeting as a positive step.

Sharad Pawar also attended the meeting.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar also attended the meeting through video conferencing. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin and party leader Kanimozhi Karunanidhi attended the meeting through video conferencing in Chennai.

TMC chief did not attend the meeting

Sources said that leaders of some constituent parties also raised the issue of open political attacks on each other’s leaders. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s scathing criticism against Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee in recent days topped the list.

The Trinamool Congress chief himself was not in the meeting but Hemant Soren raised the issue without naming Adhir, saying how Congress leaders even demanded the dismissal of the Bengal government over the Enforcement Directorate  (ED) raids in Bengal and subsequent attacks on ED teams. Congress general secretary (organization) KC Venugopal immediately responded to it, saying it was not the official stand of the Congress.

Earlier in December, Mamata Banerjee had also named Kharge as the India Alliance’s Prime Ministerial candidate. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also supported Mamata Banerjee’s proposal.

Kharge said – talk on seat sharing is moving forward positively.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was made the Chairman of the alliance in a virtual meeting of the opposition alliance today. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar turned down the post of the convenor of the alliance.  Seat sharing was also discussed in this meeting of the INDIA alliance. After the meeting was over, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also shared this information on his official social handle X. He said that there was a positive discussion on seat sharing.

The right opportunity to raise all issues

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote, The leaders of the Indian Coordination Committee today met online and held fruitful discussions on the alliance. Everyone is happy that the seat-sharing talks are progressing in a positive manner. We also discussed joint programs by INDIA Alliance parties in the coming days. I along with Rahul Gandhi invited all Indian parties to join the   Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra at their convenience. हम Everyone should use the opportunity to raise social, political, and economic issues.

A committee was also formed to formulate the plan

NCP chief Sharad Pawar said at the meeting of the INDIA Alliance held today that a meeting of the India Alliance was held under the chairmanship of Mallikarjun Kharge. We discussed that we will all decide on seat sharing as soon as possible. Some people suggested that Mallikarjun Kharge should lead the alliance and everyone agreed to it. We have also formed a committee to plan for the coming days. Everyone suggested that Nitish Kumar should take responsibility as convenor, but their opinion is that the one who is already in charge should remain.

Explain that 28 opposition parties have formed a coalition called the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).  This alliance will fight the Lok Sabha elections in  2024  with the BJP-led NDA alliance.

India Alliance held a virtual meeting. Mallikarjun Kharge was elected its president. According to Bihar minister and JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha, on the proposal of MK Stalin, the Congress offered Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to become the coordinator of the alliance, but the Chief Minister did not accept it. It is understood that Nitish Kumar expressed his intention during this period. At the same time, it has kept open the option of a national leader and a future prime minister. However, Bihar BJP state president Samrat Chaudhary has described it as the dream of Nitish Kumar being broken.

In the culmination of the virtual meeting of the INDIA block, the opposition alliance underwent significant deliberations, shaping the leadership dynamics for the approaching Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emerged as the consensus choice for the alliance’s chairmanship, a decision that garnered widespread support among the attending leaders. Despite a suggestion to appoint Rahul Gandhi to the post, he graciously backed Kharge, highlighting his extensive political experience and suitability for the role.

The meeting witnessed discussions on the convener’s position, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar declining the proposal and advocating for a Congress leader to assume the role. This principled stand by Nitish underscored his commitment to opposition unity, rejecting any personal aspirations for a position. The alliance’s intricacies were further underscored as leaders from various parties, including JMM’s Hemant Soren and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, put forth their perspectives on leadership and transparency within the coalition.

The TMC’s clear articulation of commitment to the alliance, coupled with concerns about seat allocation in West Bengal, added another layer to the discussions. The meeting also addressed instances of internal discord among allies, emphasizing the need to maintain a united front against the BJP-led NDA.

Overall, the virtual conclave set the stage for a collaborative and strategic approach towards the Lok Sabha elections, with Mallikarjun Kharge assuming the pivotal role of alliance chairman. The dynamics of leadership and coordination within the INDIA block will likely play a crucial role in shaping the political landscape as the country approaches the electoral milestone in 2024.
