Ashok Gehlot has claimed that there is no anti-incumbency wave in Rajasthan. We will form the government again. Giving the example of Kerala, he said that the government was formed on the basis of work to manage the Corona epidemic there.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday said there was no anti-incumbency wave against the Congress and the party would form the government in the state again. Polling is underway for assembly elections in the state today. Meanwhile, he said, “It seems there is an undercurrent. It seems the (Congress) government will be formed again”.  Gehlot said in Jodhpur that the Congress focused its election campaign on development issues, while  BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah, and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, used provocative language.

He said BJP leaders from outside, including the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, tried to provoke people. “People have understood. It seems that the Congress government will come again.  We made good laws on the right to welfare and health of gig workers and brought schemes and guarantees for the people. The Congress has given seven guarantees to the people. If voted to power again, the party will give an annual honor of Rs 10,000 to the female head of the family and an LPG cylinder of Rs  500  to  1.05 crore families.“

Citing the example of Kerala, he said that the government was formed again on the basis of its work to manage the COVID-19 epidemic there, and in Rajasthan too, the Congress government had done a great job on this front. Asked why the BJP was targeting only him on various issues like ‘Lal Diary’, he said BJP leaders were upset that they could not topple his government despite indulging in horse trading. A sacked minister had claimed that the “red diary”  contained the chief minister’s financial transactions.

“They are toppling elected governments through horse-trading. The method they have adopted is a matter of concern for democracy. We tried our best in Rajasthan and did not allow the government to fall. People are with us. The chief minister said the language used by the BJP leaders was unacceptable. “They were saying provocative things. We challenged them to talk about local issues,  talk about our plans.” On becoming chief minister again, Gehlot said there is a tradition in the Congress that the AICC sends observers to seek the opinion of the MLAs and then a resolution is passed, leaving everything to the high command. And the decision of the high command is acceptable to all.
