In the 2018 elections in Rajasthan, a slogan became very popular – ‘Modi tumse bair nahi, Vasundhara tumhari khair nahi’. This time there has been some change in this slogan – ‘Gehlot tumse bair nahi, MLA Tumhare Khair Nahi.’ Simply put, this slogan is a clear message to the Congress high command. There is more anger among the public about the current ministers and MLAs than the CM.

In such a situation, Chief Minister Gehlot could have made some major changes if he wanted. However, most of their sitting MLAs and ministers have been given tickets for the upcoming assembly elections. Gehlot’s compulsion is said to be behind this. According to the report, the senior Congress leader had promised the leaders when there was a rebellion within the party. He had told the MLAs that if they support him and oppose Sachin Pilot, it will ensure that their tickets are not cut. It is being told that it is time to fulfill that promise. This is the reason why many MLAs facing anti-incumbency wave have also got tickets again.

Congress leader Shanti Dhariwal has been given ticket from Kota (North). However, Sachin Pilot was demanding that disciplinary action be taken against him for not attending the CLP meeting two years ago. This clearly shows that Gehlot has made his way and he is busy keeping his promise. However, the CM has not had complete control over ticket distribution. Mahesh Joshi’s case is an example of this. Joshi had rebelled against the CLP and is said to be close to the chief minister. He has been denied a ticket this time. In such a situation, questions are also being raised about Gehlot within the party leaders. There is a clear effort between Gehlot and Pilot.

There is a clear change in the strategy of the Congress in Rajasthan this time. The oldest party knows that the wind of change is strong. This is the reason why the Congress is far from naming or projecting the name of any chief ministerial face. The Congress high command knows that Gehlot is the best option for them. Therefore, in the election campaign, he is being projected as a person who is taking the party along on his own. Also, some conditions are seen in Rajasthan similar to Madhya Pradesh. The BJP is trying to reduce the anti-incumbency wave against MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Mama ji is neither being put forward fully nor dismissed.
