‘Sanjay Singh is not my relative’ Brij Bhushan Singh reacts to the WFI  committee’s suspension.

Earlier today, the Sports Ministry suspended the newly elected  WFI panel, including its chief, after Sanjay Singh announced the hold of the Under-15 (U-15) and Under-20 (U-20)  National Championships in Nandini Nagar, Gonda, UP before the end of this year.

WFI President Suspended: Amid the controversy over the suspension of newly-elected Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Sanjay Singh by the Union Sports Ministry, former president of the wrestling body and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh met party president JP Nadda in Delhi on Sunday. Singh is reportedly a close aide of Brij Bhushan, who has been accused of sexual harassment by several wrestlers.

Earlier today, after Former Controversial WFI President Sanjay Singh announced holding the Under-15 (U-15) and Under-20 (U-20)  National Championships in Nandini Nagar, Gonda, UP before the end of this year, the Sports Ministry suspended the newly elected WFI  panel,  including its chief.

After the meeting with the BJP  chief, Brij Bhushan addressed the media at his residence and said he had no connection with the new  WFI chief. “Sanjay Singh is not my relative… The announcement to hold the Under-15 and Under-20  Nationals in Nandini Nagar was made to ensure that sporting events should resume. “

On  WFI’s decision to hold the tournament in Gonda, Brij Bhushan said, “There was very little time left to conduct the tournament and no other federation had adequate arrangements to organize it on time.  Gonda is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s home turf.

On meeting Nadda, he said it was about party matters and not related to the governing body of WFI. “Lok Sabha elections are coming up and I will have a lot of work to do.  He also denied reports that he has resigned from the post of MP.

“I have worked for wrestlers for  12 years. Time will tell if I have done justice… Now the decision and negotiations with the government will be done by the federation’s elected people. “

The six-time MP also claimed that he severed all ties with wrestling on December 21, when the election to the new body was held on the orders of the Supreme Court.
