Chidambaram To Lead Congress Manifesto Committee For Lok Sabha Polls!

The Congress on Friday formed a manifesto committee for next year’s Lok Sabha elections. The committee will be headed by senior party leader P Chidambaram. It included General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh and Shashi Tharoor have been included. Former Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister T S Singh Deo has been appointed as the convenor.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: The Congress on Friday formed a manifesto committee for next year’s Lok Sabha elections. The committee will be headed by senior party leader P Chidambaram. Many senior leaders including General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been included in it. Former Chhattisgarh deputy chief minister T S Singhdeo has been made the convenor of the 16-member committee.

According to a statement issued by the party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has constituted a manifesto committee for the Lok Sabha elections. Besides Chidambaram and Singhdeo, the committee includes Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, party general secretary Jairam Ramesh, senior leaders Shashi Tharoor, Anand Sharma, Gaikhangam, Gaurav Gogoi, Praveen Chakraborty, Imran Pratapgarhi, K Raju, Omkar Singh Markam, Ranjeet Ranjan,  and Om Kar Singh Markam. Jignesh Mevani and Gurdeep Sappal have been included. After the meeting, Venugopal had said the party would shortlist candidates “very soon”.

Earlier, on December 21, Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the CWC has unanimously adopted a resolution to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a party and as a member of the India group. “The CWC calls upon all members of our great organization to unite with hope and confidence and dedicate themselves with dedication and discipline to the election campaign,” the resolution read.
