Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with Bengal Congress leaders in Delhi to know their opinion. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury made it clear that he is not in favor of an agreement with the Trinamool in Bengal because no other party has done as much damage to the Congress in Bengal as Mamata Banerjee’s party has done.
Bengal News: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has assured the party’s Bengal unit president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury that there was no agreement on seats with the Trinamool Congress in the meeting of the opposition parties alliance INDIA held in Delhi recently. Rahul held a meeting with Bengal Congress leaders in Delhi, in which the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge was also present. In the meeting, he also asked Bengal Congress leaders their opinion. Adhir made it clear that he was not in favor of an agreement with the Trinamool in Bengal as no other party has done as much damage to the Congress in Bengal as Mamata Banerjee’s party has done.

Adhir claimed that the Congress could put up a good fight in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections (LS) on seats like Malda North and South, Murshidabad, Jangipur, Darjeeling, and Raiganj, but added that whatever decision the party high command takes in the end , That they will accept. Bengal Congress leader Deepa Dasmunsi said that the morale of party leaders and workers will be broken if the Congress compromises on seats with the Trinamool.
Instead, the Congress should join hands with the Left Front. At the same time, some leaders of the Bengal unit involved in the meeting insisted on contesting elections together with Trinamool. He argues that the Congress fought the last assembly elections in Bengal in alliance with the Left Front. Both could not get even a seat. On the other hand, the Bengal CPI(M) is upset with the growing proximity of the Congress and the Trinamool.
CPI(M) state secretary Mohammed Salim said the party would continue its fight against the BJP and the TMC in Bengal. The CPI(M) state committee meeting to be held on December 27 and 28 will discuss preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
