Kejriwal responds to ED, It’s a ‘Politically Motivated and Illegal’

Arvind Kejriwal has sent his reply to the Enforcement Directorate  (ED)  summons in the liquor policy case. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief has called the summons illegal and politically motivated.  On the ED summons, Kejriwal said, ”  This summons of ED is also illegal like the previous summons issued by the agency.  The ED should withdraw this summons, as it is politically motivated. I have lived my life with honesty and transparency. I have nothing to hide. “

Kejriwal was summoned by the ED today i.e. Thursday for questioning in the money laundering case related to the excise policy. But he left for a  10-day Vipassana meditation session on Wednesday. “Kejriwal has termed the fresh summons as politically motivated and illegal,” the sources said referring to the chief minister’s reply. In his reply, the Chief Minister said he had lived his life with transparency and honesty and had nothing to hide. He said he was ready to accept any legal summons. “

Kejriwal was scheduled to leave for the Vipassana session on Tuesday, but he could not do so as the opposition group was busy with the INDIA meeting. Kejriwal left for the scheduled meditation session around 1.30  pm on Wednesday, officials said. The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday questioned the timing of the summons, saying the party’s lawyers were studying the notice. Legally appropriate steps will be taken. The party said Kejriwal’s Vipassana session was pre-scheduled. You said the information was public.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha said, “Everyone knows that the Chief Minister is going for Vipassana on December 19. He regularly goes for this meditation session. It is a pre-determined and pre-announced event. The ED  had earlier summoned Kejriwal on November 2, but he did not join the questioning, terming the notice illegal and politically motivated.
