Who will be ‘ruled’ in Rajasthan? Raman-Shivraj stepped back from CM’s post, Message for Vasundhara.
In Madhya Pradesh, everyone was shocked to hear the name Of Mohan Yadav as Chief Minister, without having a single discussion even remotely for the same. The BJP threw the same googly in Chhattisgarh as well. Vishnudev Sai was given the chief minister’s chair by bypassing a strong leader like Raman Singh. Political experts say that Vasundhara Raje’s concern is justified after seeing the trend of choosing CM in both states.
There is a meeting of the Rajasthan BJP Legislature Party on December 12 (Tuesday) at 4 pm, in this meeting, the name of the new CM will come out from the brainstorm. Along with this, this meeting will also decide the future of Vasundhara Raje, who is involved in the CM race, and whether Raje becomes CM for the third time or not. The BJP has won 115 seats in Rajasthan. Apart from Raje in the CM race, Diya Kumari, Kirorilal Meena, and Baba Balaknath are also there, but veteran leaders involved in the CM race in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were sidelined.
Both the veteran leaders of the BJP, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Raman Singh, led the election campaign in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh respectively. At 64, Shivraj Chouhan is already the longest-serving Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
The same is the case with 71-year-old Raman Singh in Chhattisgarh. He led the state for 15 of its 23 years in existence. Both leaders have a lot of support at the local level, but when the BJP decided that it wanted to bring about a generational change in the party leadership, it did so.
Coming back to Rajasthan, the BJP has won 115 seats in the assembly elections in the state. Media reports said that before the legislature party meeting, a fair of MLAs was held at Vasundhara Raje’s house. On this pretext, he wanted to give a message to the BJP high command by demonstrating strength.
Vasandhara Raje along with her son Dushyant Singh recently met BJP national president JP Nadda in Delhi. Media reports say that at a time when the party is focusing on bringing in young leaders, the national leadership may not find it right to give Raje the responsibility of Rajasthan.
Raje, 70, is a senior leader of the party. Before the party could sideline her, she had to clarify that she was not retiring from politics yet. However, looking at the situation in Chhattisgarh and MP, it is believed that the party can express confidence in a young leadership.
Political pundits believe that at the moment, the high command is stronger than the local leaders. He also entered the electoral fray on his own and the results are in front of everyone. However, Vasundhara returned after meeting with Amit Shah, but it is late now. Winds of change are blowing in the BJP. The old is being sidelined and the new is being given a chance. The BJP is going through a generational change. In such a situation, Vasundhara Raje should also understand the urgency of the time and take a step back, in this, it is good for both her and the BJP.
Political pundits believe that whatever decision the BJP takes in Marudhara, there will be an effort to maintain the caste equation. The way tribals in Chhattisgarh have been targeted in MP, the same googly is likely to be thrown in Rajasthan. However, MP and Madhya Pradesh are sending a big message to Raje and what is written in the message will be clear by the evening of December 12.
