According to the information, the Odisha MLAs, along with the party’s state president Manmohan Samal and MPs, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and National President JP Nadda to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming 2024 general elections. Senior BJP MLA Pradipta Nayak has said that the meeting with party leaders in New Delhi will cover several important issues, including strategy against the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD). After our massive success in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, we have not met the Prime Minister and the Home Minister as a group. In such a situation, we will meet the Prime Minister and give our best wishes. Apart from this, we also have many issues to discuss like the state government is hijacking the schemes and programmes of the central government. It is worth mentioning here that the meeting may brainstorm on the strategies to be adopted for the upcoming elections.
Terming the visit of BJP leaders as a drama, senior Congress leader Suresh Routrai took a jibe at BJP leaders saying they were going to Delhi to bring funds to fight against the BJD. They (BJP and BJD) have already decided that they will fight the elections unitedly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have already chalked out plans to ensure BJD’s victory in Odisha and as per plan, VK Pandian has resigned from his service.
BJD MLA Amar Shatapathy said such activities were common ahead of elections. There is nothing new in it. His allegation that the state government is hijacking central schemes is baseless. Even the central government appreciates the state government for the proper implementation of the central schemes.
