Shashi Tharoor: ‘BJP  will get maximum seats in Lok Sabha elections’, Tharoor said this about INDIA Alliance

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has made a big statement about the Lok Sabha Election 2024. Tharoor said the BJP would emerge as the single largest party in the elections but its seats can be reduced to prevent it from forming the government. Tharoor said the Congress will soon bring in more opposition parties on board.

All parties have intensified preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has made a big statement about the elections. Tharoor said that BJP will emerge as the single largest party in these elections.

Tharoor was attending the Kerala Literature Festival in Kozhikode on Saturday. Speaking at KLF, he said,  “I am still hopeful that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party. But I believe their numbers can be reduced to a level where their potential allies, required to form a government, will no longer be willing to cooperate with them and may be willing to form an alliance with us.  So we have to try it,” he said.

“It’s the best thing they can do, and if it happens, and there is enough difference of opinion, maybe the BJP candidate will win, but that’s democracy in our first-past-the-post system”

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor

He said, “The most important thing that the people of this country need to be reminded of is to vote for the best person in their constituency.” He also said that India is a diverse country and he is fully prepared to live in a situation where he does not have “100 percent consensus among  100 percent states”.

BJP’s seats will be reduced

Shashi Tharoor in the Lok Sabha election said that BJP will get the maximum seats, but its seats will fall compared to before. He said the BJP’s potential allies would no longer be willing to extend support and may instead support an opposition alliance.

BJP will not form a government

Speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF), Tharoor said, “I still hope that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party, but I believe their numbers will be so small that the government cannot be formed.”

Tharoor said that the Congress hopes that it will reach agreements with various parties in as many states as possible so that defeat can be avoided.

The seat-sharing pattern will be different in every state

On seat-sharing talks between India Bloc’s coalition partners, Tharoor said That he hopes that as many states as possible will have “enough agreements” to avoid defeat. He also highlighted that the decision will be taken according to the political nature of different states.

In some states, there may be a consensus among all opposition parties and there can be only one candidate against the BJP, while in another state there may be two or three candidates. “In such cases, “voters will have to choose the person who will represent them best,” the Congress leader said.

The Congress leader said the seat-sharing pattern of the Indy alliance will be different in different states. He cited the example of two neighboring States, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Tharoor said it is almost impossible to imagine in Kerala that the two major rivals of the opposition alliance, i.e. CPI(M)  and Congress, would ever agree on seat-sharing, but right next to in Tamil Nadu, CPI, CPI(M),  Congress and   DMK are all allies together and there is no dispute here.

Vote for the best person

Most importantly, the people of this country need to be reminded to vote for the best person in their constituency because those who chant ‘Modi, Modi’    should know that only people of Varanasi can vote, Tharoor said. We have to choose the best candidate in our area.

Shashi Tharoor on Maldives dispute

India’s dispute with the Maldives is continuously increasing. After the objectionable remarks of Maldives ministers on PM Modi, on one hand, while Indians are boycotting the Maldives,  the Maldives is also now showing eyes. Meanwhile, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has instructed the Indian government to be cautious about the proximity of Maldives to China.

Tharoor said that it is true that there are  100 percent Muslims in the Maldives, but the truth is that Pakistan has not had any significant influence there. But our influence has been much greater historically. Historically, small neighbors have always had problems with big neighbors. They cannot be indifferent to our existence and unaware of the importance of India. We are pursuing our policies with great maturity.

We should not overjoyed about the loss of the current leader or condemn him too much for his re-election. “But we have to keep a close watch on the current Maldivian government’s growing proximity to China. Maldives is expanding its influence in all our neighboring countries. Our government must remain alert to the threats it represents. “The recent social media controversy was unfortunate, I don’t think foreign policy should be run over social media.

Maldives’ proximity to China is not right

Shashi Tharoor

Speaking at the 54th  annual day celebrations of ‘Tughlaq’  magazine, Shashi Tharoor said that China is trying to increase its influence on the border of India. “We have to watch very carefully the Maldives government’s growing proximity to China.”

China is influencing Our neighbors

“There is no doubt in the fact that China is trying to increase its influence on our border. They are becoming increasingly influential in all our neighboring countries, without exception.

China’s influence on India’s friend Iran increased

China’s influence on Iran, India’s friend and partner in projects like Chabahar, has increased rapidly in the last few months. One reason for this is that China has increased the purchase of oil from Iran by three times, while India’s purchase has decreased. China’s continued purchases even after US sanctions have proved important for Iran and due to this, it has come closer to China.

However, this situation may be uncomfortable for India. In such a situation, he has intensified efforts to bring Iran into his court once again. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is on a two-day visit to Iran. During this time, he will talk about many important issues including oil purchases, Israel, Hamas war.

The government has to be vigilant

“We must remain vigilant and I am sure our government will be aware of the dangers that may come and there will be some limitations that the government will talk about,” the Congress leader said. “We have to understand that Maldives has the right to have relationships with other countries like us, but there are things we will view as of grave concern for our interests and we will take appropriate action on those,” Tharoor said.

Tharoor said India’s foreign policy should not be discussed on social media and the diplomatic standoff between India and the Maldives should be put to an end. “We must understand and respect the sensitivity of a small neighbor being closer.

‘I can’t guarantee that…’, Foreign Minister Jaishankar

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has broken his silence on the ongoing dispute with the Maldives. The statement came after three Maldivian leaders posted derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Modi and made fun of his recent visit to Lakshadweep. “I cannot guarantee that all countries will support us or agree with India all the time.

Every country will support us, not guaranteed

“In politics, I cannot guarantee that every country will support us,” Jaishankar said while speaking at a town hall meeting in Nagpur when asked about the recent differences with the Maldives. “The people-to-people relations that we have built in the last  10  years, we have had a lot of success, and relations with many countries have been strengthened.

Jaishankar highlighted India’s efforts in the last decade to build strong relationships globally, focusing on fostering positive sentiments among people despite ups and downs in political relations.

Relations with China will not be normal now

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also expressed his opinion on the China dispute. Amid the standoff at the border, China should not expect to move forward as normal, he said. Speaking on the topic ‘India’s Rise in Geopolitics’, he said diplomacy continues and sometimes difficult situations do not get solutions in haste.

During the event, Jaishankar also answered questions from the audience. He said that there is no mutual agreement on the boundaries between India and China. It was decided that the two sides would not gather troops and inform each other about their activities, but the neighboring country violated this agreement in  2020. The Foreign Minister said that China brought a large number of its troops to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and the Galvan incident happened.
