Raipur: Voting is underway for the second phase of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. There is a crowd of voters at the polling booth. A sad news has come out amidst the news of voting. A woman died suddenly after she went to a polling booth to cast her vote in Balodabazar district here, police said on Sunday. The case is related to Kasdol police station area.

According to the information, a woman died suddenly while standing in a queue to vote in polling number 76 village Malda of Kasdol assembly constituency. The deceased woman is a 60-year-old brother. Confirming the incident, Returning Officer Kasdol Bhupendra Agarwal said that the police are investigating. Kasdol police have started investigating the case, he said. Heart attack is said to be the reason behind the death of the woman.

BJP candidate and former Chief Minister Raman Singh tweeted, “The news of the death of a sister Sahodara (60) who came to vote in polling number 76 village Malda of Kasdol assembly constituency is very sad. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and patience and support to the bereaved family. At the same time, all the voters, including mothers and sisters, are requested to take care of their health and I urge all of you to give priority to senior voters in the queue.”
